Lindsey Van joined Brett Camerota, Joss Christensen, Chris “Hatch” Haslock, Ted Ligety, Megan McJames, and Bryon Wilson in the YSA Hall of Fame. Van grew up in Park City ski jumping with the boys. A current member of the U.S. VISA Women’s Ski Jumping Team, Van won the 2009 FIS Nordic World Ski Jumping Championships in addition to taking 15th place in the inaugural 2014 Olympic Women’s Ski Jumping event in Sochi. While she is a pioneer for her sport and has had countless victories as an athlete, she says she’s most proud of her decision to become a bone marrow donor.

On hand to help distribute awards were 2- time Olympic Nordic Skier, Liz Stephen, and 2-time Olympic Aerial Skier, Emily Cook.

The Skullcandy Leadership Award was presented to Figure Skater, Anna Shott. Shott earned the respect of her coaches and peers due to her hard work and enthusiasm. She developed a partnership with Friends of Animals to leverage the attendance, theme and reputation of the Figure Skating Club of Park City’s spring ice show to raise awareness about homeless pets and raise crucial funds for that organization.

Bob Wheaton, General Manager of Deer Valley Resort, and Kerry Morgan, long-time Director of YSA’s Get Out & Play, were honored with YSA Spirit of Service awards.

Wheaton is a founder of the YSA and a long-time supporter of its programming. Through Deer Valley Resort, he has provided consistent support of JANS Winter Welcome, playing host to the event for many years. The launch of the $2 million dollar Stein Eriksen YSA Opportunity Endowment was held Silver Lake Lodge at his behest and he has provided annual opportunities for YSA to host its supporters for First Tracks events. More recently, he opened the doors of the resort to Park City School District elementary school students participating in YSA’s Get Out & Play program. Local students are getting a chance to make their own first tracks on some of the best groomed corduroy in the world.

Kerry Morgan started out as a parent volunteer for the Park City Mountain Resort after school ski program and went on to lead a multi-sport, multi-venue program allowing kids experience sports as diverse as snowboarding, ski jumping and mountain biking. During her tenure as Get Out & Play Director she instituted the YSA core values ‘SPORT’ program as part of the weekly Get Out & Play Program. Scholarship opportunities for area youth in need grew exponentially under her leadership. Her legacy is for finding a true home for this unique program while providing a positive structured environment in which local children can learn about commitment, respect and hard work.
